Driving Instructor Course in the NT

Welcome to the Driving Instructor Course in the NT (Darwin) -> TLI41225 – Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training (Specialisation Group A – Car). This certificate is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).

This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required for road transport trainers who will be training individuals or groups in cars, heavy vehicles or motorcycles. This qualification is not for the public to gain a driver’s licence.

This course requires an initial deposit of $1500. The remaining balance must be paid before the commencement of practical training.

Please note that a local, fully qualified trainer/assessor with several years of industry experience will deliver the practical training in Darwin.

Step 1: Complete the TLI41225 – Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training

Step 2: Submit the following documents listed below to the MVR

• A complete medical assessment of fitness to drive (L2) form (must not be older than six months)
• National Police Certificate issued in the NT
• Traffic offence history issued in the NT
• Your Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics
• Current NT driver licence.

Step 3: Pay for and get your driving instructor endorsement.

NOTE: Your application is unlikely to be accepted if you have:

• been convicted of any sexual, fraud, financial, violent, drug-related or theft offences
• a history of driving offences, licence disqualifications or suspensions.
