Open License

Before your provisional license stage 2 expires and you are granted your open drivers license it is advisable to have an independent assessment of your hazard perception and general driving habits in a variety of driving conditions by day and by night.

The One to One Driver Training Hazard Perception Assessment will be conducted in a variety of traffic conditions and will include a variety of different types of roads including country roads, dirt/gravel roads, and residential streets, on highways, toll ways and freeways, in multilevel car parks and through school zones.

As for the P1 to P2 assessment the driver will be exposed to as many different hazards as possible within the three hour time frame.

Any lack of perception of hazards or lack of response to hazards or poor driving habits will be highlighted and further training made available if required.

To progress from the second stage Provisional Driving Licence (P2) to your open license you must:

  • hold your P2 license for a minimum of 2 years
